UX Research Report: Coursera Discussion Board
Research goal:
Coursera is a virtual education platform that offers students online courses, specializations and degrees. The objective was finding the usability problems of Coursera Discussion Board and give suggestions for improvement.
Heuristic evaluation:
Heuristic evaluation was performed to find usability issues of Coursera Discussion Board. Each issue found was categorized by the heuristics and the severity of the violation was judged based on a five-point rating scale.
Through my heuristic evaluation, I found some cases where Coursera Discussion Board violated some heuristics. The heuristics that were violated in the system are: Flexibility and Efficiency of Use, Error Prevention, User Control and Freedom, Consistency and Standards, Aesthetic and Minimalist Design and Match Between System and Real World.
